Trail of Cthulhu: Eternal Lies
Nyarlathotep supposedly goes by many names and many forms. He is sometimes described as a “tall, swarthy man” who resembles an ancient Egyptian pharaoh. In some tales he wanders the earth, seemingly gathering legions of followers, through his demonstrations of strange and seemingly magical instruments. These followers lose awareness of the world around them, and herald’s the world’s collapse.
Other tales describe Nyralathotep as the ‘Crawling Chaos’ and a writing mass of dark tentacles. Other stories call him the ‘Howler at the Dark’ and depict him as a giant creature with a single blood red tentacle for a face that cries out.
Regardless of what form is depicted, he is seen as a seductive evil force, able to take 1001 forms to bring about the undoing of mankind.
